Global Warming
What is Global Warming?
Global warming has been on the rise over recent years. Ever since the Industrial Revolution during the 1800s, the emission of greenhouse gases has been on the rise. Global warming could be defined as the warming of the Earth caused by the trapping of heat in Earths atmosphere traveling towards space. There has been a rise in greenhouse gas emissions over recent years due to the burning of fossil fuels, causing a large amount of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Many things can cause an increase in greenhouse gases including deforestation, human activities, and industry. Global warming has had many effects on our planet already. The polar ice caps have been melting in recent years due to the warming of the Earth. This is leaving animals in the arctic without homes and is also causing global rises in sea levels. Global warming is also having an effect on the habitats of other animals around the world. Animals are being forced to move due to changes in temperatures. This is also having an effect on the agricultural systems around the world. Plant growth is being affected along with crops, which could be devastating to farmers around the globe. Plants are also loosing nutritional value which has caused an increase in diseases. If changes are not made soon, the effects of global warming could be devastating.
